The Institute for Advanced Studies in Princeton, New Jersey needed a rework of the existing auditorium speech and playback sound systems in Wolfensohn Hall, a +/- 250 seat room with pristine architecture and distinctive antique furnishings.

Clear Sound, Inc. was contracted to engineer the design and provide the bill of materials, installation and project management. While maintaining sensitivity to the distinguished environment, the new audio equipment needed to fit in the existing 16 space equipment rack, and the JBL playback loudspeakers required replacement of the transducers.

A single Duran Audio Intellivox 2C was chosen as the best available speech reinforcement system with minimal architectural impact. It was installed with a Yamaha analog console in the control booth. Additional new equipment includes a Marantz PMD570 flash card recorder and three Shure UR4D wireless systems with six handheld and six lavaliere microphones.

An Extron computer interface was installed in the presentation lectern allowing easy connection of presenter laptop computer to the booth control systems for both audio and video reproduction via a custom designed and installed floor box system.

Existing amplifiers were reused for the custom JBL playback system and all new cone and compression drivers were installed.
