The Trustees of Princeton University meet
for their sessions in the historic and
stately Nassau Hall Faculty Room, a historic
building on the Princeton University campus.
The room has high ceilings with wood paneling
and exhibits a mid-band reverb time of
about four seconds.
The trustees requested the freedom to
reorient their meetings in a variety of
ways. A novel solution was reached featuring
a Duran Audio Intellivox 4C loudspeaker
and thirty six channels of Lectrosonics
Venue wireless. The fourteen foot tall
Intellivox column was mounted next to
a portrait of Britain's King George to
help it disappear into the room decor.
A custom millwork enclosure complementing
the room's paneling houses the Lectrosonics
automixers, wireless and DSP. Handheld-
style transmitters with table stands are
supplied for use as table microphones
and provide the desired flexibility.
Clear Sound's Chris Hughes recounts “We
were not allowed to attend any portion
of the Trustees' meeting, and the last
wireless module had arrived that day from
Lectrosonics. We had confidence that our
programming would be perfect and our confidence
was justified by the Trustees' complete
satisfaction in the system's performance".
