The Baker Rink required a scoreboard mounted
sound system which consisted of a cluster
configuration of Community R-2 loudspeakers,
chosen for their weatherproof nature in
this chilly location. The weather resistance,
high fidelity and intelligibility loudspeakers
were employed to provide excellent voice
coverage for all of the Rink seating.
Clear Sound built a support grid of aluminum
strut inside the scoreboard assembly to
support the new central loudspeaker cluster
positions securely atop the scoreboard.
A The Shure SCM800 mixer was chosen for
its robust and durable nature, as was the
SCM262 and signal processors were added
to complete the package.
The athletic departments utilizing Baker
Memorial Rink are enthusiastic about the
installation, and Clear Sound, Inc. enjoyed
working with the University on its sound
reinforcement needs in this atypical setting.
