When Tacony Academy Charter School was visited by the Native Nations Dance Theater as part of their Native American Indian History Month this past November, the Clear Sound production team was called upon to make sure the performance was a success. The school’s needs were unique because the performance featured singing, dancing, live drumming, and audience participation all within the confines of the gym.
A gym’s shape and the hard surfaces of the ceiling, walls and floor allow the sound to bounce around and create the echo typical in gymnasiums. Clear Sound calibrated the room’s acoustics to make up for the disadvantages of the room’s shape and the surface materials of walls and floors. While working with the only three available power outlets in the gym, Clear Sound ensured the success of the historical presentation with the proper placement of Meyer MTS-4 speakers and a Shure wireless microphone system.
